This attractive 1-ounce silver coin is the first issue of a new series called “Nature Kings” and represents the King of the Savannah: The Lion. The reverse of the coin shows a majestic lion in ultra-high relief in the foreground with open jaws and clearly visible teeth. The details are exceptional, every single hair is visible, and the open eyes are very awe-inspiring because of how precise and carefully drawn they are. In the background, on the other hand, the image of the lion is more abstract, although the details are incredible too. At the base of the reverse, the inscription: “KING OF THE SOUTH” – the name of the coin. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with the lion claws and the inscriptions: “ELIZABETH II,” “COOK ISLANDS,” “2023” and “5 DOLLARS.”
