At the center of the obverse is Ian Rank-Broadley’s classic portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a tiara. Inscriptions of her name, “ELIZABETH II,” joins inscriptions of the name of the issuing country, “SOLOMON ISLANDS,” the filigree’s face value, “5 DOLLARS,” its date, “2023,” its weight, “2 OZ,” and its purity, “AG 999,” encircling her image. Beyond this are colorized and cutout maple leaf designs, which can also be seen on the reverse.
Dominating the reverse is a single solid maple leaf, just like the one that appears on the famous coin. That leaf is set against a background of a “35” hologram pattern. That is a reference to the 35th anniversary of the original Maple Leaf, the occasion for which this filigree was issued.
