He is the main character in Homer’s Iliad, who chooses a short, victorious life instead of a long and idle one. He decided to be brave, and one of his many daring feats is illustrated on this 50 mm coin. With the antique finish, you can see Achilles in the fight near the horses and riders, marching with his golden sphere.
