This beautifully minted silver proof coin honoring the Welsh Red Dragon represents the first release of the five-coin Dragons of the World Series. This series will feature an array of dragons as interpreted by different cultures around the world, with high relief imagery struck on both sides of uniquely shaped coins. Other releases will include dragons from Egypt, China, India, and the Mayan/Aztec empires of Central America. A final coin showcasing each beast will complete the series.

The obverse is the concave side of the coin and displays the coat of arms of the Republic of Fiji, along with the inscriptions “2 OZ,” “.999 FINE SILVER,” “FIJI 2022” and “2 DOLLARS.”

On the reverse, the Welsh Red Dragon is depicted from above, featuring a moment of tranquility for the fierce dragon on a convex silver surface. The creature’s sleeping face is framed by its sinuous body and elegantly curving wings. “Welsh Red Dragon” is displayed near the upper rim; while, “Dragons of the World” is written near the lower rim below the dragon.

This 2022 Fiji Welsh Red Dragon 2 oz. silver coin was submitted to the Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) for review. Featuring a flawless high relief strike, impeccable surfaces and outstanding eye appeal, the coin is rated as a PF70. The coin is encapsulated in a sonically sealed black core NGC protective holder with a themed certification label which was specially designed to accompany releases of the Dragons of the World Series. The perfectly graded coin will arrive in a red drawstring pouch with a numbered Authenticity Certificate and a Welsh Red Dragon story booklet.
