Celebrating the completion of “The 7 Summits” collection! Mt Vinson looms large, towering some 16050 feet above sea level, on the Antarctic continent with an icy wasteland surrounding it. Mt Vinson is located on the southern part of the Sentinel Range claiming rightfully to be the highest mountain there. It is located a mere 1200 km (750 miles) from the South Pole making it the most remote of the 7 summits celebrated in this collection. Discovered in 1957, it was successfully scaled in 1966 and finally named in 2006.
