The obverse of the Australian Silver Kookaburra features the image of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is always featured on the obverse of Australian coinage with her portrait updated throughout her reign to depict her current age. This is the fourth-generation depiction of the Queen to feature on coinage and was created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley.

On the reverse of the 2018 1 oz Australian Silver Kookaburra Coin you will find the latest Kookaburra design in the series. The Kookaburra’s distinctive call is often heard at dusk and this coin’s reverse depicts the “king of the Australian bush” in full flight with the moon the background. The design includes the inscription AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA, the Perth Mint’s P mintmark and the 2018 year-date.
