Celebrating the beauty of the animal kingdom, the Silver Wildlife Series portrays the amazing animals found on the African plains: the gorilla, elephant, lion, zebra, rhino, cheetah, impala, buffalo and meerkat. Retaining the same design since the Silver coin’s release, the reverse depicts the official seal of Rwanda featuring tribal devices surmounted on a cogwheel and encircled by a square knot. However, unlike the reverse, the obverse of the coin changes annually but always features an illustration of a celebrated African animal, some of which are endangered, next to a beautiful depiction of Africa.
